Welcome to My Journey on the Way of Tea

Hello & Greetings!

Thank you for visiting my little part of the internet, where I try to document my journey on the path of tea (aka Cha Dao). I've been drinking tea since I was a child, but only recently started exploring cha dao as method of focus, meditation, and just enjoyment of tea.

This blog has various tea tastings entries of the teas I've tried over the years (which is more than some, less than others), anecdotes of my tea journey, and what I've discovered along the way.

My tea tastes have changed over time as I have become more aware of what I'm drinking and how I drink it. I've cataloged some of my tea logs from various other places (such as Steepster and posts on various social media) so I can have a chronological record of how things have changed over time in a single location.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why the blogger URL Jade Oolong?

Because my name is Jade and my favorite tea is oolong. It has nothing to do with the actual jade oolong tea. Also, it was hard enough trying to come up with a meaningful Blogger URL as many are already taken

Why the title Tea with the Black Dragon?

Because wulong / oolong (simplified Chinese乌龙traditional Chinese烏龍 ), loosely translates to black dragon from Chinese, and it also happens to be one of my favorite books.  I also tend to drink a LOT of oolong teas, so many tastings will be of various oolongs.

DISCLAIMER: This blog has no affiliation with the book, Tea with the Black Dragon by R.A MacAvoy, which I love dearly. I am not infringing on her copyright, as book titles can't be copyrighted, but they can be trademarked. And insofar to my knowledge, the author has not trademarked this book title.
